Somatic Movement Workshop by Magenta

Somatic movement is a freestyle, intuitive approach to dance that focuses on inner sensations rather than the execution of forms. Magenta infuses his own unique flavor into his visual art and meditative practices, and views dance as a form of abstract painting, utilizing the body as a medium to help release inner tension. He applies movement philosophies from his performance research, “Magentaichi”, which anchors the movements in breathing exercises, direction, and visual prompts. It provides a template to balance raw expressions with grace and flow, allow a controlled release, and take care of the body while purging.
